"I do not want anyone to be sad, I want everyone to be happy, healthy and strong. I love you all! I had a great life and we will be together again."
Heculaneum celebrates their Bicentennial Year 1/13/08

On January 13, 2008 The City of Herculaneum is having their Bicentennial birthday party. Mom has been out every day and evening after work collecting donations from businesses for attendance prizes for the PARTY!

Herculaneum continues to grow and your Wife Wilma is very active in the activities. I know you are very PROUD of her!  She continues to strive to keep the great City growing.

Your bucket and shovel continues to fill with success!

Another Honor in Your Name

A new Street sign went up in your Name and Dedication.
      "MAYOR JOHN CHAMIS MEMORIAL AVENUE"
The New Bridge that you worked so hard on finally opened for traffic. Before the ribbon cutting ceremony Mayor Gina made sure the new sign was in place. So now there is one at the beginning and end of the longest street in Herky in your name and Memory.

Mom attended and helped out at the Ribbon Cutting Event, as always.

Very Honorable.

Thanks Herky!

John remained Mayor until October 5, 2005
By mid year of 2005 John had Doe Run Smelter in compliance for the first time in 110 years! GOOD JOB and WELL DONE :)
